Alok (aa-lok) Singhania, Partner Gridscape, spoke at the Microgrid Knowledge Conference recently and shared insights on scaling community resilience for all. One highlight of Alok's presentation was discussing the groundbreaking project undertaken by the San Pasqual Band of Mission Indians, where our microgrid has significantly slashed utility costs by almost 62%. It's fascinating to witness the tangible impact of sustainable energy solutions in action. This achievement not only showcases the power of innovation but also underscores our commitment to building a more resilient and eco-friendly future for all.

We were honored to welcome a team from California Public Utilities Commission’s Energy Division (CPUC's Energy Division) to our Fremont Fire Station 11 microgrid! Led by Taaru Chawla, the visit provided a firsthand look into the crucial role microgrids play in bolstering community resilience during emergencies. Our discussions delved into the intricate workings of microgrid technology, highlighting its ability to ensure uninterrupted power supply, especially when it's needed most. A heartfelt thank you to Taaru Chawla, Aisha Knowles, and the entire CPUC team and our Gridscape team for making this visit happen.

Today, as we honor our planet and contemplate its future, I'm excited to share a vision that emerged when I asked AI to conjure an image of a world powered by renewable energy. In that picture, I saw a planet aglow with the brilliance of renewable energy. It was a world where the air was clean, the waters crystal clear, and the land teeming with life. But more than just a visual feast, that AI-generated image showed hope for a future where humanity and nature coexist in perfect harmony. It reminded me that we have the power to shape our destiny, to choose a path that sustains and nourishes both the Earth and all its inhabitants. So on this Earth Day, let's hold onto that vision and strive to make it a reality. Let's embrace renewable energy and all the possibilities it holds for a brighter, greener tomorrow. We participated in an event recently– the Fremont Engineering Expo. This gathering wasn't just about showcasing sustainable energy; it was about sparking a love for engineering and sustainability in the minds of our youngest citizens. Imagine kids from local schools, wide-eyed and excited, exploring exhibits featuring some very cool innovations. Their enthusiasm was infectious as they engaged in hands-on activities, discovering the importance of sustainable solutions in tackling climate change. But what truly made the Expo shine was its message – that each of these young minds holds the power to shape a brighter future. As they tinkered and asked questions, they weren't just learning about engineering; they were envisioning themselves as part of the solution to one of our world's biggest challenges. The Fremont Engineering Expo wasn't just an event; it was a spark for inspiration and action. Five years ago, a monumental event unfolded in the heart of Fremont – the inauguration of Gridscape's Fremont Firestation 6 Microgrid. It wasn't just a moment for the team; it was a celebration for the entire city, marking a significant step towards a sustainable future. As we reminisce about that special day, the memories flood back – the joy, the pride, and the collective effort that made it all possible. None of this would have been achievable without the unwavering support of the city of Fremont. Their vision and commitment paved the way for a journey that has transformed not only the infrastructure but also inspired a lot of cities to move towards sustainable energy. Since then, we've come a long way. What began with one microgrid has blossomed into nearly 65 deployed and contracted microgrids in just five years. Each of these microgrids represents progress, innovation, and a dedication to a greener tomorrow. The photograph we share today encapsulates more than just a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
