In collaboration with East Bay Housing Organizations' Affordable Housing Month, #EdenHousing celebrated the groundbreaking of Timber Senior Housing last Friday. Timber Senior Housing is our first project in Newark, California, and will provide 79 new affordable units for seniors. This transformative project revitalizes a nearly 1-acre site, perfectly aligning with the city’s vision of converting light industrial and warehouse spaces into a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly residential community. 🏡 The building will boast a community room with a kitchen and an adjoining courtyard featuring space for planter boxes and organized activities. Residents will also enjoy amenities such as a computer learning center, an exercise room, a bicycle storage facility, and offices to accommodate on-site services staff. Designed with seniors in mind, all units, except for the 2-bedroom manager's unit, will be 1-bedroom apartments, catering to both independent seniors and couples alike. ℹ Learn more about Timber Senior Housing and join the interest list at: https://lnkd.in/gNTejmsC Special thanks to our partners and supporters who helped make this project a reality! Another life-changing community from Eden Housing, Inc. is underway in Newark, CA with the recent groundbreaking ceremony taking place. Timber Street Senior will deliver 79 units for seniors, fulfilling the city’s vision of transforming the surrounding neighborhood from light industrial and warehouse space to a vibrant, walkable residential neighborhood. Housing Trust’s CEO Noni Ramos spoke to how we provided an Acquisition Loan for this property through our Google Launch Initiative, our TECH Fund, and the Capital Magnet Fund. Noni was also joined by Tatiana Blank, Housing Trust Board Member and CFO at Eden Housing, Inc., as well as some of our team members, including Julie Quinn and Fathia Macauley. This project is especially important for us because Timber was the first Google loan we ever made, back in 2020. If you are unfamiliar with Google Launch, it is an affordable housing fund and strategic partnership between Housing Trust and Google aimed to accelerate the start-up and preservation of homes across our region. The goal is to invest in affordable housing by providing mission-oriented developers like Eden Housing, Inc. with the financial resources needed to compete to acquire sites and advance these types of developments. As always, we'll provide updates as this project unfolds and we get closer to welcoming residents home to a safe and vibrant space!

Named in honor of Rosa Tabasa, who made significant contributions to the Filipino growers’ community in the city, this 53-unit development embodies Watsonville’s vision for inclusive housing. Happy Grand Opening! With a vision to provide housing for all income levels, Tabasa Gardens is now a thriving part of the Watsonville community. Upon completion, families, including farmworkers and households exiting homelessness, moved into the 53-unit complex developed by Eden Housing, Inc.. The complex features a resident services coordinator who will provide myriad services, including wellness, career, education, and financial literacy programming, to help ensure residents succeed. Housing Trusts Chief Lending Officer Fathia Macauley was there to enjoy the festivities. We are proud to have provided an Acquisition Loan for this project through different funding sources, which include our Monterey Bay Housing Trust – a partnership with the Monterey Bay Economic Partnership (MBEP), our TECH Fund, and our Capital Magnet Fund, as well as Dignity Health. The Monterey Bay Housing Trust is a revolving loan fund financed by the Monterey Bay Economic Partnership and Housing Trust that we created in July 2016. The fund is intended to increase the supply of affordable housing for low-income individuals and families with special needs with a focus on funding housing in the Monterey Bay Region, which includes Santa Cruz, San Benito, and Monterey Counties. This is an example of the power of partnerships and what can happen when we all work together for our community. Congratulations to all involved!
